Weekend Wine and Food Pairing- Torrontés and Lettuce Wraps

It is hot in Southern California and all I can think about is having a light, refreshing meal paired with a light, refreshing wine!  I successfully accomplished this pairing over the past week when I made lettuce wraps with spicy tofu and a peanut dipping sauce.  I served the lettuce wraps with a bottle of Torrontés and it made for an amazing, summertime meal!  The tropical flavors and acidity in the Torrontés paired perfectly with the spicy flavors of the lettuce wraps.

One very reasonable Torrontés I recommend is Doña Paula Estate 2011 Torrontes.  You can pick this bottle up for around $14 and it is a great combo with lettuce wraps.  With aromas of lychee and citrus, a palate of tropical fruit, and lively acidity, this is a wonderfully refreshing Torrontes.  You can be sure to beat the summer heat with this pairing!
