An Explosion of Spring Flavors- Cimarone 3CV 2010 Sauvignon Blanc

I have had the chance to try several wines from Cimarone Estate Wines 3CV line and I am consistently impressed with the wines they are producing for under $20.  Last week I uncorked a bottle of their 2010 Sauvignon Blanc and my taste buds were aroused by the flavors and balance of this Santa Barbara wine.

About the Wine- From the Winery

3CV 2010 Sauvignon Blanc is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Happy Canyon AVA of Santa Barbara.  It retails for $15.99 and you can find more information at www.cimarone.com

Now the Fun Part- Tasting the Wine

3CV’s Sauvignon Blanc is pleasantly aromatic with notes of sweet peaches, honeydew, and citrus.  At first sip, an explosion of spring flavors fills your mouth.  There are bright, distinctive tastes of melon and citrus surrounded with healthy acidity.  The tangy finish delivers a lasting grapefruit-filled punch.  I definitely recommend grabbing a couple of bottles of this nicely priced wine…it’s a great wine to welcome in the spring and summer!

My Wine Rating- A-

Food Pairing Suggestions- Pair this wine with grilled snapper, a salad topped with crab, shrimp, and scallops, or fish tacos.

  1. Great to hear about this wine! I’ve had the ’09 and other greats in their line-up. I must agree that QPR (quality price ratio) they over deliver and under charge. High quality and low prices are right up my alley.

I believe this young Happy Canyon AVA will soon get the major media attention it deserves. In the meantime we can score some great value on impressive wines.
