I had a chance to travel to Paso Robles about a month ago and was impressed with some of the wine that is coming out of the area. Still on a Paso high, I was pretty excited when Domaine Degher, a Paso Robles winery, contacted me a couple of weeks ago and offered to send a few bottles my way. The vineyards are organically farmed and the winemaker, Denis Degher, channels his passion for music into a beautiful symphony of wines.

Now the Fun Part- Tasting the Wine
Red Zone has a rich nose of blackberries, black cherries, and oak. The musty aromas make me want to sip my glass in a dimly lit study reading an old book. The wine is robust and full of flavor. Oak and dark fruit a surrounded by nuances of vanilla. Muscular yet refined…a sophisticated blend worth uncorking!
My Wine Rating- B+
Food Pairing Suggestions- Pair Red Zone with steaks, veal chops, or roasted duck.
