As I rounded out my tastings of Ottimino’s Zinfandels, I realized I saved the best for last. Their flagship wine, 2007 Ottimino Estate Zinfandel, is rich, elegant, and left me wishing I had another bottle.
2007 Ottimino Estate Zinfandel is 100% Zinfandel from the Russian River Valley. It has 13.9% alcohol and retails for $32. For more information see www.Ottimino.com
Now the Fun Part- Tasting the Wine
Ottimino Estate Zinfandel pours a deep burgundy in the glass. The intoxicating nose is filled with aromas of plum, vanilla, oak, and black pepper. The wine is perfectly balanced and tastes of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, licorice, and vanilla. A spicy, long finish is prolonged with lingering notes of vanilla. This is a beautiful Zinfandel. Forget one more glass, I want to have another bottle!
