What Are Your Favorite Wine Finds For Under $20?

I am an equal opportunity wine drinker.  I have favorite wines that are $100+ a bottle and I have wines I love for under $10.  I love trying wines at different price points and I am becoming more and more aware that there are some incredible wines out their for under $20 (and sometimes far less than that!).

It’s easy to find beauties that are $60 (Jordan Cabernet is a great choice at that price point) or over $100 (always feel free to gift me a bottle of Lokoya Howell Mountain Cabernet 🙂 ) but what I also get excited over is finding a great bottle for $12.99.  Some of my recent favorites under $20 are Honig’s Sauvignon Blanc, Columbia Crest’s H3 Merlot, and pretty much anything from Santa Julia.

  1. For white I would definitely go for In Situ from Chile ($13) a Chardonnay from the Aconcagua valley and for red Primitivo di Manduria ($15), a good red wine from the South of Italy that matches up perfectly with a grilled “filetto di manzo”

  2. I think like everyone else I’m looking for bargains of wines under $ 20.00. To me $ 15-18 is just right for a good bottle of wine. One of my favorites are J. Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon (Seven Oaks). I love this wine, it is well balanced, but fairly mild for a Cabernet. With flavors of plum, black currants as well as black cherries and a little vanilla, just the right wine to enjoy with good company. Least but not last its sustainability it’s what I really appreciate. More vineyards should adapt this approach.
