Sophisticated Complexity from Caymus 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon

I love California Cabernets and Caymus is well-known for producing great bottles year after year.  That is why I was thoroughly excited when I received a bottle of their 2008 Cabernet.  In the past, I have always been impressed with their wines and I was anxious to see what this bottle held in store for me.

Now The Fun Part- Tasting the Wine

Caymus Cabernet pours an intensely dark plum in the glass.  It has a sensual nose with notes of vanilla, oak, and cassis.  The full-bodied, lush palate is layered with smooth tastes of dark berries, oak, and pepper.  Refined tannins linger in the long finish along with tastes of oak and pepper.  Sophistication and complexity that will leave you wanting another glass long after the bottle is gone.

My Wine Rating- A-
