A Sauvignon Blanc with Layers of Flavor- Stoneleigh 2008 Sauvignon Blanc

We eat a ton of avocados in Southern California and Sauvignon Blanc is one of my favorite wines to pair with dishes built around the avocado (think guacamole or a crab and avocado stack).  Today I just happened to be enjoying a beautiful California avocado salad loaded with papaya and fresh veggies.  A glass of 2008 Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc paired perfectly.

Now the Fun Part- Tasting the Wine

The Stoneleigh pours a straw color in the glass.  It has a grassy nose with aromas of citrus and crisp, green apple.  The wine is full of flavor with tastes of grapefruit, passionfruit, and pear.  The finish is intense with nice acidity.  A very powerful Sauvignon Blanc that is perfect for light dishes including my Avocado and Papaya salad.  Cheers!

My Wine Rating- B+
