One of My Favorite White Wines- Conundrum 2008

Finding a wine that is consistently wonderful, year after year, can be a challenge… especially when you can often find the wine for around $20-25.  Conundrum has somehow been able to do just that.  They produce a fabulous white blend that remains as one of my favorite white wines for under $40 year in and year out.  (And don’t be scared off by the screw cap- Disappointing packaging…yes.  Disappointing wine…no.)

About the Wine- From the Winery

Conundrum 2008 is a white blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Canelli, Chardonnay, and Viognier.  The percentages are the mystery because they don’t tell us and I am fine with that as long as they keep making such a wonderful wine.  For more information see

Now the Fun Part- Tasting the Wine

The Conundrum pours a pale yellow.  The nose is intoxicating with aromas of honeysuckle, orange, melon, apricot, and a hint of oak.  The wine is smooth and velvety with tastes of apricot, citrus, pear, and lychee among many other notes.  All the beautiful flavors are wrapped up with a dry, refreshing finish.  This wine a winner and it’s my last bottle of 2008 so I am going to be trying the 2009 soon.  Grab a bottle for yourself and thank me later:)
